The Preparation of Ground Blast Furnace Slag-Steel Slag Pavement Concrete Using Different Activators and Its Performance Investigation

Steel slag and ground blast furnace show good wear resistance, which is suitable for improving the abrasion performance of pavement concrete. This work presents an investigation activation Na2SO4, Na2CO3 Na2SiO3 on GBFS-SS composite The results showed that both Na2SO4 can promote strength development cementitious system. shows limited improvement in paste. paste activated with combination hydration products ettringite, portlandite amorphous C-A-S-H gel. SO42− accelerate depolymerization aluminosilicate network GBFS SS vitreous structure, while SiO32− only facilitate pozzolanic reaction SS, but also participate to form more as activator reduce dry shrinkage concrete, further improve compressive resistance combined a better effect concrete than single or activator. At optimal content 3% 1% obtains 60 d 73.5 MPa, drying 270 × 10−6, interconnected porosity 6.85%, 28 28.32 h/(kg/m2).
